A hydrogeological investigation was conducted for a First Nation in Saskatchewan to locate a suitable water source for a newly established bison herd. The investigation involved the drilling of 3 test holes to depths ranging from 25 to 33 m with water quality sampling and pump testing to determine water quality was suitable for livestock and to determine the quantity of water that could be expected from the aquifer over the longer term considering that the plan is to expand the herd to at least 200 animals over the next 5 years. The project resulted in the installation of two 30 m deep wells within the pasture.
