Osler Dairy Subsurface Investigation

• Provided geotechnical consulting services for a subsurface characterization of an existing dairy facility.
• Conducted geotechnical drilling and soil sampling program.
• Provided a report to the client detailing the geological characterization of the subsurface geology and hydrogeology of the site and provided design recommendations for construction of new Earthen Manure Storage pond, runoff collections ponds, berms and compacted clay liner.
• Provided design drawings for earthen manure storage pond, runoff collection pond, containment berms and compacted clay liner.

Project Manager and Senior Geotechnical Engineer to provide geotechnical engineering consulting services for the subsurface characterization of an existing dairy operation in support of their permit application to Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture to expand their dairy operations from 100 to 240 cows. The investigation consisted of drilling boreholes, installing monitoring wells, assessing groundwater impacts from the existing operation, providing geotechnical recommendations and design drawings for expansion of the earthen manure storage pond, construction of a runoff collection pond and associated berms and ditches to control and direct runoff from potentially impacted and nonimpacted areas of the site.
