Qu’Appelle River Alterations

• Topographic survey of river.
• Channel design sufficient to accommodate reasonably expected flow volumes.
• Design of geotechnical and stabilization measures to minimize erosion of the channel bank.
• Design for the berm to ensure it will remain stable under reasonably expected flow conditions.
• A site revegetation plan incorporating only plant species native to the site.
• Sediment control measures to prevent further sediment from entering the Qu’Appelle River.

Re-routing of the Qu’Appelle at Highway No. 8 near Rocanville to allow for cattle move from pasture to pasture. The river re-routing project was required to be designed according to guidelines and regulations set out by Water Security Agency (WSA). The project consisted of the design of the re-routed river section incorporating appropriate analyses to address the items referenced above. A set of design drawings were provided to the client for approval by WSA.
